My name is Javier Carrera. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. After getting degrees in Electronic Engineering Technology and Technical Management, I started down the corporate career path. I started out working in an electronic calibration laboratory of a large publicly-traded corporation and have since held titles of Account Manager, Account Executive, Sr. Product Specialist and, most recently, as an Applications Engineer that required a relocation to Dallas, TX. When I look back on it, I was already very disillusioned by the corporate world before my move to Dallas. However, being a very driven individual with a methodical, dedicated, and enthusiastic approach toward helping others , I felt assured this move to Dallas would be different from my previous positions. I was wrong. And once again, the corporate cycle began; upside, downside, and all-around sides. Even still, when I left that position I began to look for another one just like it because change is hard and sometimes it just seems easier to stick with what you know. Then one day I had a true moment of clarity: I was sitting in an interview with three sales professionals on the other side of the table. And you know that ONE guy… there is always at least ONE in every office…that negative personality person. The angry at the world guy who thinks nothing is his responsibility and nothing is his fault. As I sat there listening to him, “how he didn’t have enough support, resources, or time to be successful at his position”, it dawned on me that no matter what company I go to, it would always be the same. In that instant, I knew the corporate world was no longer for me.
During my job search, I was lucky to have met my TES coach. She reached out to me, introduced to me the idea of owning my own franchise, and then walked me through everything step-by-step. Why I decided to join TES: Going through my discovery, interacting with other TES franchisees, and listing to their personal stories and the stories about the people they’ve helped; it resonated with me. I could really relate to them; learning how they helped people who had become disillusioned with the corporate world and lost about what to do and which steps to take next. Many people have no idea coaches of this kind (TES) exists, who can walk you through a painless step-by-step process, to a life of freedom. I joined TES because I feel I can make a difference in people’s life, help them, and provide that extra push we all need to move forward.
